neutral nail art images on the walls of its tiny factory in Shropshire in the summer. The two men are so close to one another that they never met before, it has been claimed.

The nail art and graffiti art are made from a combination of paint, glass and paper.

The artist, Dr Andrew Farrar, said he had never visited Britain before and was unaware of its art.

In an address as part of a national debate on the future of painting in 2017, he insisted the graffiti is "very creative" and should never be repurposed.

He said: "I have no qualms about using this art as a reference.

"I would never use that painting on any other piece of art and I don't intend to.

"I would only say we are very different people and I do not think it is a way of getting people to work together."

Mr Farrar said the graffiti's use in some parts of the UK would cause problems for a range of "people like me who are quite into these things".
